Although Darwin’s idea that the forms of the species have evolved is not correct, still it is a fact that we have gradually evolved from the lower forms of life to the higher forms until reaching this human form. The actual evolution is not an evolution of the forms. It is instead an evolution of consciousness. Through the cycle of birth and death as our consciousness becomes more and more developed we take higher and higher life forms until we finally reach the human form. In this human form we can perfect our consciousness by becoming God conscious and thereby escape the cycle of birth and death by going back home, back to Godhead.
Darwin is completely wrong that the forms have evolved. The 8,400,000 different types of forms are always there from the very beginning of the universe because they all originate in the Lord. They are not developed by a so-called process of natural selection. They are all provided by the Lord to satisfy the desires of the living beings to try to enjoy this material world in 8,400,000 varieties of ways.

Since we prefer whatever we purchase to free from defects, why shouldn’t we demand the same standard for existence itself? If we purchase a product that turns out to be defective, we will want a refund or an exchange for a product which is in perfect condition.
Since we demand such perfection when we shop, why shouldn’t we demand a similar perfection from the most important product we own, our very existence.

Faith is one, to become a lover of God. Whether we address Him as Krishna, Allah, or Jehovah, faith in the Supreme Person is one.

In the ultimate analysis this material existence is a nightmare. Even though we do not want to suffer, so many suffering are forced upon us by the material nature.
The good news is that we actually have nothing to do with the material nature. All we really have to do to escape all the sufferings is wake up from the nightmare by chanting the holy names of the Lord with love.

You owe it to yourself to be happy. After all happiness is your original, natural consciousness. So why should you cheat yourself? This would not make any sense. Why suffer birth after birth when you can instead enjoy unlimited, ever-increasing bliss at every minute. This is real intelligence.

The default consciousness of this material world is selfishness. In fact it is selfishness which is the very cause of our being here in the first place. Just as selfishness was our ticket for originally coming to this material world, selflessness will be our ticket out of here. Selflessness does not mean denial of the self existence, which is the philosophical position of the Mayavadi impersonalists. Selflessness means to engage oneself fully in loving service to the Supreme Self, the Supreme Person who is the source of all existence.
As soon as one does this his loving service is immediately transmitted to all living beings throughout the entire existence. All we have to do is take our current tendency towards selfishness and direct it to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This will make us perfect in selflessness and liberate us from the cycle of birth and death.

Philosopher Sam Harris says that we should ditch religion, that we should abandon it. The problem with these atheists and even many theists is that they do not understand the real meaning of religion. They do not understand religion as the science of reconnecting oneself with the source of one’s existence.
Whether we are theists or atheists we all come from the same origin. Just as a light bulb has no value when it is not connected with the electrical powerhouse, our situation becomes problematic both individually and collectively when we are not connected in a harmonious relationship with our origin.
When religion is properly understood in this way as reconnecting with our origin everyone will naturally agree to practice religion because religion simply boils down to being your original, natural self. After all, who would want to be in a discombobulated state of consciousness when they can instead be in a blissful, loving, enlightened state of perfect harmony with the source of all existence and with all of existence?

What does one gain by maintaining a spirit of ill will towards anyone? Nothing at all. Therefore the pure devotee always manifests well-wishes towards all living beings. Ill will is born out of an artificial sense of superiority based on the conditioned soul’s false idea that he is the center of the universe.
If such an illusioned soul feels that someone is a threat to his so-called superiority, he tries to defend his artificial position by manifesting ill will towards that person.
Therefore we can conclude that ill will is simply born out of ignorance. Those who are enlightened with transcendental knowledge always manifest good will towards all, even those who have ill will towards them. Such enlightened souls are very, very dear to the Lord.

This material world is ultimately a confusing mess for those who are stubbornly holding on to the futile attempt to be the lords of all that they survey, because no matter how successful one may become in this material world he will in the end be a failure defeated by the insurmountable wheel of time.
Therefore instead of foolishly wasting time in a utopian struggle to be the controller of that which one cannot control, one should be pragmatically situated on the pathway of emancipation from the cruel jaws of death by reviving his dormant enlightened consciousness. In short, don’t be mixed up, be fixed up.

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God.
He asks one of his new students to stand and…..
Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.
Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.
Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes.
Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt Read the rest of this entry »
